Review: Estee Lauder DayWear Moisture Creme

I had been looking for a moisturiser for a while and, prompted by a Twitter thread about Estée Lauder products, decided to visit their website and stumbled across this great deal as part of their online exclusive promotion:

Now, because I love a good deal (who doesn’t?) and had also heard amazing things about the Advanced Night Repair and had been keen to try it for a while, this seemed like the best way to kill two birds with one stone. I didn’t want to spend too much, so avoided the really high end cremes (because what if I hated them and was forced into continuing using it, because if I’m spending that much money you’d better believe I’m making the most it) and eventually decided on the DayWear Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant 24H-Moisture Creme SPF 15.

The DayWear seemed perfect because it: (i) can be used day and night; (ii) contains their Super Anti-Oxidant Complex; and (iii) contains a Broad Spectrum sunscreen, all of which are important features in my book. It further claims to defend against and diminish the appearance of premature ageing by reducing the look of first signs of ageing, while also refreshing the skin with lasting hydration.

*checks boxes* Perfect; those are exactly what I need from a moisturiser.

There are two options, and because winter has not been good to me and my skin, I chose the version for dry skin.

The DayWear Moisture Creme is quite thick but is very soothing and softening. It is as hydrating as it claims, and has a slight green tinge, which is then explained by the calming cucumber scent it emits.

Basically I go to bed each night feeling like a bottle of fancy water.

On the website it says to use it AM and PM after your Repair Serum – I use it after the Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II and my face feels incredible. I’ve haven’t been using it for too long now, but I’m already quite chuffed at the results, and how much calmer my skin is feeling. The only thing is that because it’s quite heavy, my face is quite shiny afterwards, so if I’m not planning on wearing make-up that day, I need to at least use a little mattifying powder.

I’m planning on reviewing the lipstick and mascara I received soon (first impressions: amazing) and I’m busy using the Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II and the Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Complex Synchronized Recovery religiously (I have very dark circles that I’ve tried almost everything to combat), but need to give it time to try out thoroughly, so look out for my review on those in a few weeks’ time!
