This is something I’d come to terms with in my life. I have terrible hands – large, with prominent veins and dry. They say you can tell a woman’s age from her hands, and this would explain why I’d been offered the pensioner’s special at so many places.
I’d never really been into hand creams before – they’re usually heavy and greasy and off-putting – but Rubybox recently sent me a Dove package, which included the Dove DermaSpa Goodness³ Indulgent Hand Cream, and I decided to give the hand cream a try this week.
The hand cream claims to transform dry skin by creating even-looking, luminous skin that feels velvety soft, and aims to combine a luxurious home spa experience with expert dermatological care. It’s especially designed for dry skin, and is suitable for sensitive skin as well.
As I mentioned previously, I hardly use hand creams, but I was amazed by this product. Each application left my hands feeling extremely soft and smooth, and I couldn’t stop touching them to feel the difference. It’s got a fairly light and floral smell to that, which could be a pro or con depending on your preference (I didn’t mind it, but I didn’t love it as much as others). That being said it definitely feels indulgent, like you’ve just treated yourself to a manicure, or you’re a rich housewife whose hands have never been submerged in dishwater.
It’s also quite lightweight, and great value, as it turns out that little goes a long way. This does mean that too much will weigh down and start to feel greasy on your hands, but when I did happen to squeeze too much product, I turned it into a foot cream and I daresay it works even better that way. Overall I’m quite pleased, and have popped it into my bag to start using constantly, especially as winter approaches and dries out my skin even further. If you’re looking for a great, inexpensive hand cream, I’d definitely recommend it.
The Dove DermaSpa Goodness³ Indulgent Hand Cream retails for R45.95 and is available at all leading retailers.
