Review: Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lips (plus: giveaway!)

I am a huge fan of matte liquid lipsticks. I’ve tried quite a few, and actually earlier this year I actually tweeted the following:

I did have my one absolute favourite (the only one that stayed on and didn’t immediately leave me running for a lip balm), but unfortunately is quite expensive and not really a viable everyday lipstick solution.

But then Rubybox sent me the new Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lips. I’m not going to lie, I didn’t have high hopes at first – I’d been disappointed too many times in the past, but I was blown away by this. It promises to “deliver high intensity colour with a velvety matte finish from the very first stroke!” and boy, does it ever!

The lipstick delivers a beautiful matte finish which swipes on easily with one stroke (see above, where I’m wearing the “Mocha” shade which I am obsessed with and my new ultimate nude colour) that is kiss-proof, touch-proof, and water-proof. And I can vouch for all of those as I recently put it through a 12 hour test – the one application in the morning survived kisses, water and touching as I made my way through the day for almost the full 12 hours (sadly, not quite), and hardly dried out my lips in the process. Which, if you’re used to wearing matter lipsticks, you’ll know what a feat that is.

Not only is the lipstick genuinely amazing, at R119.95 (RRP) it’s far more affordable than my favourite other liquid lipstick brand! I highly recommend checking this range out (it’s definitely going to be a staple in my make-up bag!).

I am giving away 5 Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lips in the following shades: Pink Blink,ย  Be My Baby, Latte To Go, Midnight and Heart Beat, to one lucky reader!
To enter, all you need to do is follow me on Twitter (@eimaj_j) and retweet my pinned tweet. That’s it!
For a bonus entry, leave a comment below on which shade is your favourite.
Entries close Friday, 3 November 2017. One winner will be randomly selected. Giveaway open to South African residents only (sorry!).
Good luck!
