Review: John Frieda Sheer Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner

Around 3 weeks ago, Rubybox sent me the new John Frieda highlight activating shampoo and conditioner to try from the John Frieda Sheer Blonde® range. Being a fan of John Frieda hair products, and having had used part of their Sheer Blonde range before – I was very excited to test and review.

The shampoo and conditioner boast “salon-inspired formula containing jojoba oil, sunflower & white tea complex to bring out glistening highlights for maximum blonde impact”, and claim to gently remove build-up & residues that can dull your blonde hair.

So, does it do what it promises?

After using both products regularly for the past few weeks, I can say that in a way, yes. While I didn’t notice a huge different to my hair colour, in that it didn’t lighten or brighten that much, it maintain my colour and vibrant hue. It certainly does seem to remove build-up and keep your blonde from dulling, as my hair constantly looked as good as it did when I stepped out of the salon. Plus, both the shampoo and conditioner are so moisturizing that my hair was soft and silky after each wash – I couldn’t help running my fingers through it constantly to feel the difference. That, combined with the delicious fruity smell followed me around with each swoosh of my hair, sold me again on the John Frieda brand.

You can see the results above – after 3 weeks of use my hair stayed as brightly blonde as at the start (even through my fringe and roots couldn’t keep up!) While I’m still blonde I’ll definitely keep using the product, and will definitely recommend this if you’re in need of a shampoo and conditioner specifically suited to maintaining blonde hair (which, at times, can be a difficult feat).

If you’re interested in also trying the range, you can purchase the John Frieda Highlight Activating Shampoo and Condition at Clicks Stores at a RSP of R115.95 each, and let me know what you think in the comments below!
